it’s been a pretty great weekend. saturday night i went to cj’s with jamey and nick after work to play some pool and have some drinks. jamey was hilarious. seriously, “shoe hands”? omg great stuff. sunday night my mommy cooked dinner for me–meatballs, mashed potatoes, macaroni, and string beans. my tastebuds had a party; a big one. then i spent two hours playing with jesalyn. she wasn’t feeling great at first, but i got her laughing pretty quickly and we had a good time. god she’s so cute. she waved to me when i left! twice!!! that’s the first time she’s waved at anyone =) aunt jade wins. *evil snicker*

ryan’s supposed to be driving to atlanta this weekend. his old t.d. just had a heart attack. he’s okay now, but ryan wants to visit. i’m off sunday and he’ll be out of town, so jade’s heading to douglas again mom said she and i could take jesalyn for the day. that’ll make me ridiculously happy. prepare for lots of baby pictures next week, i’m sure.

Did Lemon Demon write “Geeks in Love” for you? No, they didn’t, ’cause they wrote that for me and Ryan, but that’s besides the point! Valentine’s Day is fast-approaching and I know SO many people who are stuck on what to get. I’ve got your solution though! I really think these are a great idea for college students especially. Here at VSU, in both the Library and the Multimedia workshop, they sell reformatted flash drives for a low price. Know where they get them? People who leave their flash drives behind! You’re also asking for trouble if you step away from your computer to pick up stuff from the printer, or to go make copies of something. Flash drives are in high demand among students and some people have no problem sinking to that level. Having your name engraved on it is definitely a bit of theft deterrent! And it appears you’re offered two lines so you could get a name engraved without skipping out on the personal message of l-o-v-e =) Check ‘em out!

i feel like i’m getting sick, and i really hope i’m not. i’ve had a nagging sore throat for about a week now.

saturday night, i’m going out to play pool with a few guys i work with, after work. i’m actually really excited because i never get to hang out with them outside of work, and it’s been a while since i’ve gone out with some of my own friends.

alright, odd things from this week:

#cashier at wal mart picking her earwax with a pen top and flicking the wax off the end of it….WHILE ringing me up. omg.

#girl in front of me in the drive thru continuously smacking herself in the head. now, i know she was just trying to scratch her head, but it was just too hilarious from where i was sitting. and i mean, she had long nails, you’d think she’d give up and just scratch with those things.

#old guy checking out in my line with his pants unzipped. i think that’s enough on that one.

i had nightmares all night last night, and this time, they ranged from nightmares about snakes to nightmares about people literally having flesh torn from their bodies. not a good night–at all. so i overslept this morning and missed my first sociology quiz. missing a quiz isn’t really a big deal, but missing the first one sucks considering i really had no clue what the format or content of the quiz would be. this was supposed to be kind of a trial. i’m sure you all know what i mean.

jonathan’s damn shoes still haven’t gotten here! i really wanna see ‘em.

YARN! i was just going through posts from this time last year when i first met ryan and one of dara’s comments reminded me that we called him “yarn!” why this cracks me up so much, i really don’t know! but it totally does.

walking to campus this morning, i saw a car that belongs to someone i used to know– someone i used to talk to on a fairly regular basis. not that we were close, but they were a normal part of my day. it got me thinking about someone else. someone who was an important part of my life. someone i was extremely close to. now, it’s not secret to anyone that friends grow apart, but this wasn’t the case here. this person chose to longer be my friend. from my end of things, we were truly perfect one day and the next, i was nothing to them, and i really don’t understand what happened. actually, it was in the middle of a really average conversation that they just stopped talking to me and then never tried to contact me in any way again. i even took a small chance at getting in touch with them again and got no results.

so this is to you, the one who left me behind. you meant a lot to me, and i’ll always treasure what our friendship once was. i’m really sorry for whatever i did, or, if i didn’t do anything wrong, then i’m sorry i wasn’t enough. i’m sorry my friendship wasn’t worth your time. i wish i had known so i could’ve tried harder because you truly meant a world to me. thanks for what you gave. i’ll always remember you. i hope you’ve found someone who can give you what i couldn’t.

i’d be quite depressed if i hadn’t had two small encounters that brightened my day and reminded me that there are still people out there who care more than you think.

new layout! i’m really happy with how it’s turned out! it was def a pain in the arse though. thank god for frontpage to help work out the little kinks and the html that i can’t fix myself.

opinions welcomed

i got my payperpost swag yesterday! my favorites were the 13 inch pen and tshirt brick. who doesn’t enjoy a good tshirt brick?

my roommate just walked out the door with paint covered jeans, a grey sweater, black sport jacket, blue belt, and brown shoes. i’m not the fashion police by any stretch of the imagination, but i think that was a bit much.

i got a lot done today for sleeping until after 2! i got all the dishes done, i cleaned the room (trust me, that was a huge feat) and i’m working on laundry. i’ve also gotten some stuff ready to print for class tomorrow. now i just need to get my reading done

and go see what willow knocked over…

i’ve had this basically constant headache for…hmm i guess since classes started back. i dunno, it’s just getting annoying.

i think i’m gonna go clean the living room–not because it needs it (though it desperately does) because i don’t feel like doing my reading yet.

this morning ryan sent me a text message and considering it was bad weather and we were both in the u.c. (concrete building in which you get no signal) it came through as this:

ME TOO to *ryan’s phone number* delivered. n an hour or hour and a halfou were hungry this message) I love you!! (you can reply to this message) Pasted AHH!when i do! heavy.

yeah….it was a collage of text messages sent and received–impressively enough, some of those text messages long deleted! except i have no clue where heavy and Pasted came from.

i think i want to drop my english 3120 class. the professor is pretty demanding and i don’t really feel like i can deliver what he wants this semester. i think i’d be better off going with one of the other options to fill this credit or maybe taking another comp class before i take this one. i haven’t had a lot of writing to do in the past few semesters. i really can’t afford to get a bad grade out of this class either, but i really feel like that’s gonna be the outcome. i’m gonna sleep on it and decide.

i really wanted to rent Employee of the Month on OnDemand, but dammit, it isn’t there! guess i’ll have to wait until after work to go rent it.

so we had a cashier meeting this morning (from 7-8:30 am….assss) and of course it was pretty much pointless, but patrick became my hero of the week when he threw out how pissed we all were about the availability/school schedule thing. at first, greg (our manager) tried to back melissa up, but when all was said and done, he told david they needed to discuss HRs involvement in our scheduling and told us that as long as peggy has no problem working with the availability we’ve given her, not to worry about it. my favorite part was when patrick was on a roll and said, “we’re in valdosta to go to school; we’re not in valdosta to work at lowe’s.” god that was amazing.

i can’t get motivated to get any of my school work done. i really can’t. it’s hard enough to get motivated to go to work–it’s really a chore right now.

i really want to see Employee of the Month and Catch and Release. if you wanna paypal me some money to make one of those happen, i’m all for that
