Oh wow, warning, this is 23 minutes long and there’s language. But I laughed so hard! A guy used a video of someone playing “the hardest Mario levels of all time.” I kept thinking he’d just run across the top…

Wowza! I’m downloading Gilmore Girls torrent right now and it hit upwards of 700 kb/s!! *cough*NERD*cough* that was exciting!
I had my feelings hurt yesterday and it’s really bugging me. At work, these people don’t know me. There are maybe two people there who have an idea of what I am outside of work. So to them, all they see is a really sweet southern girl. Apparently that automatically means I’m also simple-minded, because I happen to be easily amused and enjoy laughing… Really though? Ouch. Truth is, I avoid intelligent conversations at work because every time I’ve attempted one, I run into that all-too familiar situation of talking to a brick wall. The same things are said over and over with no progress in the conversation. How stimulating…and no, I’m not saying everyone I work with is dumb or anything like that; if that were the case I’d be doing the same thing they’ve done to me. It just so happens that all the people I work closely with are just really different from me. So thanks to those of you who think I’m simple-minded and felt the need to joke about it yesterday. Wanna compare SAT scores? I swear every time I start climbing up to be happy with my life, something smacks me down. Now I’ll be paranoid and self-conscious at work, and I really don’t like that.
And really, maybe it was just a joke, but it’s not the first reference in Lowe’s to me being a dumb little southern girl, so it just struck a chord this time. I have a very fragile self-image. I don’t know what kind of insults hurt worse–those founded in truth, or those you know are completely wrong. Either way I appreciate the blow to the ego. ![]()
Forgot to share this little gem last week…umm…HILARIOUS.
…it’s been pretty average I suppose, but definitely relaxing. I needed a day like today. Plenty to keep me entertained, but nothing too rushed or too demanding. I’ve still yet to do this summary for Ovid’s Metamorphosis, but I’m promising myself to be at least half done tonight.
I think I’ve given Ryan a ride back and to the theatre shop maybe five times today. I love being helpful though =) He took me out to dinner and we had some steak at Texas Roadhouse. I’ve been wanting to go there for about two weeks now and he originally asked if I wanted to go get something quick between meetings and rehearsals so that was a pleasant surprise. Then I came home and watched Pride and Prejudice for about the 4th time this month and help Kristi be vengeful! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! A little Myspace hacking was done, and just for good measure we even changed his password and things so he wouldn’t be able to get back in and change it. A little less than mature? Well sure, but I promise he had it coming.
Oh! Ryan got the Mega Man Anniversary Collection today and I’m excited about getting into that again. I haven’t played Mega Man since probably even before my teenage years!
Has this ever happened to you? You click on a bookmarked page and hey, it’s totally not there anymore! Well, this happened to me a while back and I’m still completely perplexed. See, when I get a new phone, I usually pick two applications to provide all my ringtones. I like to make sure I’ll have enough room for other applications if something catches my eye and I don’t want to lose ringtones from deleting apps. Well, this last time I got RingTone JukeBox and Napster Audiotones. After a few months of use, I decided I wanted a new ringtone. RingTone JukeBox didn’t have it so I headed over to the Napster Audiotones site. The page doesn’t exist anymore. If I try to open the app on my phone it just gets stuck in a loop of trying to pull it up. The really odd thing is, there was no sign or warning that it was about to go, and after many tries at searching for info, I can’t seem to find anything about it! At most I think I’ve found maybe 3 articles from a few years back mentioning that Napster would soon be offering ringtones. I’ve even emailed Napster and gotten no answers. I was told something along the lines of needing to contact the Audiotones site directly but that’s not easily done when the site no longer exists to find contact information so I asked for help getting in touch with someone and never received any sort of reply. Really, if it were something more than just ringtones, I’d feel like it was some sort of Napster conspiracy with the way it’s so impossible to track down.
Anyone else have a similar experience? Or even better, do you know anything about where Napster Audiotones disappeared to? They had some of the lesser-known bands that I’m unable to find from other providers.
I’d love to make my own ringtones but I’m on my second attempt at a USB cable and it’s just a no-go. I don’t know what it is…
I know there are still so many questions concerning how the second shootings were able to start at Virginia Tech yesterday. Many of the discussions I’ve seen or been a part of have hit on the point that a University-wide lockdown just isn’t as easy to establish and maintain as it is in say a High School. I mean, at a large University there’s just no way to communicate to everyone there at once, much less those in transit.
With all this in mind I’m very excited that VSU is taking preventative action and has created the VSU Campus Alert system. This is the email I just received:
Dear Students,
The VSU Campus Alert system has been provided so that campus administrators
can quickly communicate with students, faculty, and staff in the event of an
urgent situation on campus such as class cancellations, campus closings,
severe weather, or security incidents. Please take a few minutes today and
enter your telephone number (presumably your cell phone number) at which you
want to receive these alerts using the link below. The privacy and priority
of this information will be preserved and will not be shared with third
parties for commercial purposes or other purposes than this notification
system. We will begin collecting numbers the week of April 17 and test the
system on or before the last day of classes, April 30.http://www.valdosta.edu/editalertinfo
I’m glad they’re learning from this tragedy and making efforts to keep the students safe and informed, as I’m sure there were many students involved in this disaster that simply had no idea anything was even awry until they arrived at the school, otherwise, I’m sure many of them never would’ve shown up in the first place.

The apartment is coming along. See, there’s no space in our tiny bedroom for a lot of our stuff, so there’s a ton of clutter downstairs. Fortunately, it seems every time I clean downstairs I’m able to get rid of a little more stuff or at least consolidate it to a smaller area. I’ll be so happy when we move to the bigger room. Part of the problem is that there’s just so much junk and I don’t know what belongs to Ryan, and what belongs to Jonathan, but after he moves, I’ll know! I plan on putting any questionable stuff (questionable as in I’m questioning whether it’s something that needs to be kept or trashed) in one big box and making him sort through it all. I’ll also have a little more room in our bedroom for storage space and such. Seriously, I’m SO excited about it. I can’t wait to have a nice looking apartment again! haha
I’ve got to write a summary on Metamorphosis (not the cockroach story, the greek stories) and it really needs to be done today, but I just can’t get motivated…it’s so long and it was a complete chore to read in the first place! It’ll be really beneficial, I mean, for one, I need to read them again anyway to lock in some information for the final exam, but also, my teacher offered to let me do this summary to replace the few quizzes I missed this semester which was very generous of her as she’s not the makeup work type teacher. I was really excited when she made the offer.
Last night was fun! Late night, but fun! Ryan came home I think around 11 and we played some Melee, then we went to Waffle House ’cause we were both hungry and craving chocolate chip waffles. It’s always so much fun when we just get to hang out. When we got home, we ordered and watched Man of the Year, which wasn’t the movie either of us were expecting, but still good. Then we did Ryan’s taxes. I thought I was a procrastinator, damn. See, this is the first time he’s done his own taxes instead of going to H&R Block, and I agreed to help him on the condition that we’d do them and then if he didn’t like the outcome, he just wouldn’t submit and then he could go back to H&R Block. Well, at 4 am on the 17th, that just wasn’t an option! So miraculously, we got through the initial entering of all the information a lot more smoothly than I was expecting, but then his refund wasn’t as high as he was expecting and blahblahblah, but I just sat back and he got it all figured out and here we are. It was 5am before we called it a night.
