This is the most godawful thing ever. Of course this virus is new and there aren’t any actual fixes around yet.
If you get anything on your computer regarding XP Security Center and you have not specifically downloaded XP Security Center, you may now panic and have a mental and emotional breakdown.
Of course, I’ve done well in my life. This is my first actual virus issue. It’s pissing me off that obviously it’s my fault, but in my defense, Thursday night I ran the updates for my comp, which included a number of security updates, so seeing the Security Center didn’t send up any red flags at the time.
Running any sort of antivirus, spyware, or adware programs automatically restarts the system. I can’t save any new files whatsoever. I’m talking, I can’t even right-click and save a picture! Even more lovely, it has removed the option from EVERY possible place on the computer to view hidden files. In the Control Panel, I don’t even have a Folder Options icon anymore!!
I’ve backed up what I can, but of course, I have to open EVERY folder and click each individual file to copy it–It’s the closest I can get to being sure I’m not just copying corrupt files, so of course, I can’t save everything.
Brandell recently dealt with a virus of the same family, so Ryan’s taking from him the program they used to get rid of it. If that doesn’t work, Ryan has a computer guy who should be able to take care of it and still keep my files intact.
I hope that works. I really don’t want to start from scratch, but if I have to, I’ve somewhat come to terms with it.
It’s honestly pushed me to the point of tears. What a way to spend my semi-weekend off.
I’m on Ryan’s computer right now. It’s just luck that he brought it home Thursday night to get some files from me. So excuse any typos please; there’s no spellcheck on his browser and I’m just too distracted to notice, really.
I just wanna scream. A lot.

Umm; my computer has a severe virus right now. It even recognizes any spyware program and restarts my computer if I try to use one. I also can’t download or save any sort of file whatsoever. i’m updating this from my phone. If I’m not around for a while, you know why. please do not accept any file transfers from me until I update stating that the virus is indeed gone. and pray for my poor computer…

…But what are you planning for Father’s Day? I always forget until the last minute and have to scramble for a gift. I don’t wanna do that this year.
I’m sick of buying him clothes. I get asked for that every year and that’s just no fun. Tools and fishing gear are too overdone as well.
I’d like to get him something he’d just really like–something he probably wouldn’t buy for himself.
He’s fixing up an old car so I’ve considered stuff for it like new mats, wood steering wheels, specialty cleaning kits–but most of that would require some investigation for sizes, colors etc and I don’t know if I’ll have that opportunity.
I’ve seen some great Dad gift baskets, but they’re way overpriced.
Maybe I can just sneak over and organize all his tools in the huge tool box we all chipped in and got him when I was like 8….it’s still in the box! Clearly my love of organization didn’t come from him!
I’d like to do something nice, but not too terribly sappy. And I really need to figure it out soon.

I’m tingling with anticipation for the season finale of The Office tonight! There’s been SO much speculation and I hardly know what to listen to! We started being told that everything was really under lock and key and that they were taking more extreme measures to be secretive than the guys at LOST, but now we’re hearing all these supposedly ‘definite’ things like the name of the episode which suggests a character leaving…I just don’t know how much of it to believe and how much of it to write-off as a distraction tactic!
And are Jim and Pam gonna get engaged before the season’s over?!! Not gonna lie, there will probably be audible squeals if they do. For real.
Fire up the popcorn machines guys, ’cause this isn’t a show—it’s a spectacular event!!!!!!

I mean idiots, of course. I’ve been given the runaround on looking into possible dental coverage. I hate when the people who are supposed to know what they’re doing, just plain don’t. I’ll find out somehow, besides, I don’t think enrollment is any time soon anyway.
I watched guys load up a little Toyota to the point that the trailer hitch was no more than an inch off the ground. I wonder how far they got.
I was ignored on a request for some pretty vital materials for over 2 hours.
I watched a tech support guy try to remedy the sparks coming out of a monitor by messing around with a dos command line. Sweetheart, that’s so very obviously a hardware issue…WHAT are you doing? He finally just replaced the monitor. Thanks a bunch, can I have your job now?
Despite the parade of fools all day, it wasn’t really a bad one. I woke up a bunch last night but I still got plenty of sleep, so that helped some. Still sleepy though, but I’m off for two days so *woooo*

^^^That’s what I plan on doing all day tomorrow. Of course I have to be at work at 6am………I’ll skip the rant. Hopefully that’ll be an issue of the past pretty soon.
I’ve done all I need to do today and already had dinner as well, so I think I’m gonna take a sleeping pill at 8 and hope for the best.
I just hope that works out better than the last time I tried this. Last time I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep. I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night feeling way too hot and wrestling with my pillows for the past few weeks. Maybe I can finally get over that. I should probably just go ahead and turn on the fan as a preventative measure. I can always sleep when I’m cold, but never when I’m hot.
What do you use when you need to get to sleep unusually early? I use a generic otc sleep aid, but I’ve been known to just use Nyquil or a strong Benadryl. (Disclaimer: That’s not to say I use sleep aids often; probably once every three months if that.)

This is Smokey. Apparently, he’s my cat now. He’s incredibly people-friendly and just aches for any and all attention you’ll give him. He’s obviously been well taken care of in the past, but we think maybe someone left him when they moved this semester. He’s been hanging out since the weekend school ended. Someone was a little friendly to him at one of the parties and he’s just stuck around ever since.
We all joke because he’s ‘homeless’ yet he’s outside eating out of stainless steel and sleeping on a huge chunk of memory foam mattress from when Rachel moved out and managed to trash half her stuff. I’d say he’s living pretty sweet. He pretty much just comes back and forth all day whenever he gets tired of romping around the park across the street.
I leave a water dish out for him at all times, though it’s not really necessary since there’s a creek in the park, and once a day, usually at night, I sit out a bowl of food and take it in when he’s done. I don’t mind feeding him, but I don’t want a ton of other strays catching wind of that bowl outside and starting fights or anything.
He’s really playful, which is cute, but rough since it’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with adult cat claws. I’m remembering all the evasive moves though, and in the process, I’ve earned myself a few more battle scars. He loves to cuddle and show his appreciation and just be held.
We’ll keep feeding him for as long as he comes around when we can.

I finally got off my arse and got my hair cut yesterday. There are a couple of new places that just opened in the same little area. One of them offers a basic adult cut for $6. I thought that’s where I went.
Of course not! I went in and she washed my hair, cut it, put a little extra effort into it. I just wanted a blunt cut, but she ended up doing a little layering for me. Even blow-dried and styled it. It turned out really cute! But it came at a price. 20 bucks!
I hadn’t budgeted for that! And of course, she did such a great job I wanted to tip. I gave her $3. Is that an appropriate tip for a $20 job? I really have no idea!
I dunno…I’m happy with the cut and the service, but I didn’t really see any prices up front. It was really slow at the moment so I sort of got the impression that maybe she was doing all the extra because she wasn’t busy….If $20 is the normal fee for just a quick cut then wow….they’re overcharging for this area, and if that $20 included extra fees for the washing, drying, & styling, then she really should’ve asked if I wanted those things for the extra fee. I mean, I had just finished drying my hair before I walked out the door and I was planning on just pulling it back so the styling wasn’t needed either.
I’ve got their business cards so I’m thinking of writing for a pricing list. I’d like to go back in the future, they offer a lot of other salon services like tanning and acne treatments, but when that time comes, I’d like to know upfront how much I’m paying and what that’s covering.

How about William had a court date in Savannah today to mark the end of his probation. (He used to be a little reckless…) He’s working for Peach State Summer Theatre here and in order to have today off, he had to move to town three days earlier than planned and miss some family events to come work the weekend.
He checked yesterday afternoon and found that he wasn’t on the docket for today, so he called around and got no answers. So he got up at 6 this morning to hit the road. More than halfway there, his probation officer calls and tells him that he changed his court date….Would’ve been nice to have that information more than an hour before the original scheduled time…and before he wasted all that gas when gas is almost $4 a gallon!
Why can’t people just properly do their jobs and pass along pertinent information in a timely manner? Why is that so hard? I’m annoyed for him.

Last night I needed to paste in information I’d been diligently working on from an Excel spreadsheet to a blog entry via Wordpress. I quickly learned that it just can’t be done that way. Once you’ve saved or published, only the first line of your information remains.
I searched around and tried 3 different programs that either flat-out didn’t work, wanted me to recreate the table cell by cell, or limited how big your table could be. No good! I finally found someone who gave me a great idea of how to do it, but since they were buried in the results, and only gave a quick overview of what to do, I thought I’d list the steps here to spread the idea.
First you want to navigate to Google Documents. Of course you have to login to use their services, so if you don’t already have a Gmail account, now’s the time to get one
Once you’ve logged in, on the left side you want to choose NEW and then the type of file you want to create (Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, or Folder). In my case, I was pasting from an already created spreadsheet and just wanted my info to stay organized and aligned, so I chose document.
Another window will open–it’s a text editor. It defaults to naming it Untitled, but if you’d like for it to be saved so that you may work with it later, you want to click FILE–>RENAME.
Now simply paste your info (or start new info) into the editor and go to it! You can format any way you need to here–adding colors and changing text, etc.
When you’re done, you’ll want to click EDIT–>EDIT HTML. Once the screen reloads with your html, you want to paste all that info into the code editor for your post in Wordpress. And that’s it! Now you can save and close your Google Document and publish your blog entry which will be perfection! Just double-check that you’ve formatted your table in a way that isn’t too wide for your theme and you’re good to go!
I hope this helps someone, and I hope I’ve explained it clearly.
I’m glad I found this too; this is a pretty good place to maybe keep documents you don’t want lying around on your computer memory, like my Christmas lists I make every year and the year-round gift ideas I keep up. I’m always trying to disguise those but now I can just store them here. Dunno how I overlooked the service for so long.
