Coming this Fall–

I’m lucky in that I always have vivid dreams. I think they say the average person dreams about 7 minutes per night or something like that but I feel like I often go well past that. For instance, last night I had what I call a ‘movie dream.’ This is a dream that’s really long and with a clear plot that feels like it could be something I’d watch in a movie. These are the movies that make me long for the day when we can ‘record’ our dreams and rewatch them!

I hate that the dream was so awesomely epic but I can only recall bits and connect them together, but this is what I remember:

I was part of this group of people being held against our will while experiments were being done on us. Never anything physical, it was all mental, but it was understood that eventually we’d reach the point where they’d push us until it killed us.

One of the other captives and I fell in love. We saw an opportunity to run and so we did. We almost made it, but he got caught trying to distract them so that I could slip away. I made it into a crowd that I could have disappeared into, but I could see that he wouldn’t be able to get away and I remember this dramatic moment of knowing that I didn’t want to live without him, but if I got myself caught again, would he regret wasting his chance at freedom on me if I just ended up right back in there? I hauled ass back to help him but we both got caught.

And then here’s where it gets even more sci-fi movie/dream on me because time reset to when we first started there. It’s something they did to avoid us trying to escape again. All of the more important people could remember everything that had happened, but everyone else was in the dark about it. We weren’t supposed to remember, but we did so we had to pretend and be patient because we knew eventually we’d get an opportunity again.

After that is when the dream really gets fuzzy ’cause I started waking up and going back to sleep and trying to force myself back into the dream, but I know we made it out again, but we were still in hiding because we had no resources to get us very far and they were determined to find us and kill us before we could expose what was being done.

I just love these movie dreams. They’re just fun. Anyone else dream like that?

“Confirmed by Snopes”

^^^^ That was slipped into two email forwards I read today.

It took me 11 seconds to open a new tab, type snopes.com, type a keyword from the forward and see the results that list it as false. Does that sound hard?

Just as I thought people I know were finally starting to check the validity of an email before they passed it on, I started seeing phrases stating that the email has been confirmed by Snopes… Well it’s written in this email that sounds completely bogus, so that must be true!

Really, it probably takes you more time to filter through your contacts and decide which 10 people you’re sending the email to than it would take to open Snopes and check for yourself.

I mean, if there was a colon cleanse review going around in a forward that said if you use this product, the company will send you $18,000, would you believe it? No? So how’s that any different than believing that forwarding an email is going to donate money, win you money, or get you a free laptop?

Just check this stuff out before you send it on!

Someone actually came in recently and passed out an email with South Georgia Medical Center’s header on it– it was one of those Warning forwards that just freaks people out. It was also complete bull and has been circulating inboxes for 9 years now. Makes me feel very comfortable about going to SGMC, ya know?

Better late than never!

I’ve been slacking on school work  lately. It’s just all been tedious work that I already know how to do and I just haven’t been motivated to actually do it, ya know? I can only ‘practice’ shading in a text box and editing character spacing so much. And right now one of my classes is going over the exact same step-by-step lessons in the same book as what we did in the intro course that’s required as a prerequisite to this one. I don’t understand that at all! If I didn’t clean off my jump drive every semester I’d have all these files already.

Anyway, so I had some work I was supposed to turn in by midnight last Thursday (Tues/Thurs class) and just couldn’t force myself to finish it, and some work I was supposed to turn in tonight that I decided not to do….just because lol. Overall there wouldn’t have been any truly negative impact to my grade. The homework assignments don’t count much for either class.

But what have I been doing for the last 3+ hours? I finished my homework for tonight and then did both of my missed assignments. Dunno why–I mean, I don’t even know if I can get credit for the late ones, but they’re done. *shrug*

This new productiveness needs to filter over into some other areas…

Happy Birthday!!!

Today is my Kristi’s Birthday!!

I asked what she wanted and her only request was a million dollars. I was few bucks short of a million though, so instead I’m thinking of something that can never be a bad gift for my Krizzle– dvds! It’s actually surprising to me that she doesn’t own more dvds than she does, so it’s time to beef up her collection!

The Big Bang Theory, The Office, and The Doctor Who Christmas Special (haha, jk!)– are at the top of the list. And I couldn’t ignore the sale on television dvds for 70% off.

And oh! Away We Go is up, too! You can’t go wrong with John Krasinski on your Birthday!

I think this year I’d focus on a Neil Patrick Harris collection. I’d love to pick up all seasons of Doogie Howser & How I Met Your Mother and top it off with Both Harold & Kumar films and a DVD copy of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog!

dr-horrible-home

He’s hosting the Emmys this year! Which means I’m actually going to watch! There’s been hints at some possible Dr. Horrible action during the Emmys and that would pretty much make my night.

So I could deck out her NPH collection and then go spend a few weeks on her couch and watch everything with her =) That okay with you, love? Got an extra Snuggie for me?? Really, I’m honestly surprised you didn’t get one before now…

So anyway, Happy Birthday Krizit, Kristi-lyn, Krizzle, Grilled Krizzle w/ Cheese; you make my days brighter and I dunno what I’d do without your television/movie commentary filling up my text message inbox and aim message screen. And I hope I never, ever, ever find out! I wish I could give you everything in the world, but you know if I ever won the lottery I’d spend a huge chunk of it on you. Ya know, at least a hundred bucks or something ;)

Peeved.

Let me set up the scenario. Ryan and Jeremy are sitting on the couch. I’m standing behind them.

Me: So what time are you working until tomorrow?
Jeremy: I’m not closing so probably between 8 and 9:30.
Me: Okay well I get off at 10. If you get a ride before then, call and leave me a voicemail, otherwise I’ll just go chill in the parking lot until you get out.

I said this because he generally works a little later than he thinks he will because it’s a restaurant and you can’t really predict how that will go.

On to tonight. I’m grumpy as hell because it was a cruddy night and my contacts have been killing me and giving me a headache all evening. I also just realized tonight that I work 10-7 tomorrow (this is my absolute least favorite shift and is guaranteed to be a very tiring day) and 7 to freakin 3 on Sunday. I’m used to only working 8-1 on Sundays. So essentially, I realized tonight that I’m going to have a crappy weekend.

Well, I needed to swing by the grocery store, but since I hadn’t heard from Jeremy, I knew I needed to pick him up so I figured I’d just skip the store tonight. I was hungry, but decided to wait and grab some Taco Bell after Jeremy got out in case he wanted something too.

I got out of work right on time at 10. Fast-forward to 10:45 and I’m still sitting in the restaurant parking lot. I call and find out he already left.

Yeah.

I sat in the parking lot waiting on him for 45 minutes and he wasn’t even there.

And ya know what? Not even his fault. RYAN picked him up. RYAN told Jeremy he was going to call me. RYAN didn’t. They ran into some issues later so I can forgive forgetting to call me for an entire hour, but there’s no excuse for not just calling me in the first place or texting me. I don’t know how many more times I can yell about us paying for phones that aren’t getting used when they need to be. I almost typed ‘arguing about’ but it’s never even an argument because he knows I’m right.

I’ll be over it tomorrow. I know it was an honest mistake, and they both feel really bad about it, but right now, I’m pissed.

Jeremy doesn’t have a car, or a phone right now, and that’s fine, we’ve been making it work, but it just leaves way too much room open for things like this to happen, ya know?

Luckily he just got a lead on a super awesome deal on a car and Ryan already set him up to get an insurance quote to figure out what all he needs to do to make this happen, so hopefully he’ll have a car soon.

Poor guy really has just had a lot of shitty luck really fast, but things are slowly settling back down.

Ugh. I’m gonna go watch something to make me happy.

How do I remember this?

It’s amazing the things you’ll remember when they’re set to some sort of rhythm or tune. I don’t just mean the little songs I learned when I was still sitting in preschool furniture, but just straight up facts I’ve learned.

I mean, I can still recite all 50 states in alphabetical order because we learned them with a rhythm!

And there are all sorts of random algebra and trig formulas that I can remember because they got turned into some weird little song– Opposite of b, plus or minus square root, b squared minus 4ac, all over 2a <– That was to the tune of Frère Jacques lol

This is the stuff that’s still taking up space in my brain…what kind of random things do you still remember?

That’s what she said.

Four hours. The Office season 6 starts in 4 hours =) Kristi and I re-watched from the beginning and we’re cutting it close, but we’ll be finished with every ep just in time!

Hitting season 5 has been weird because Kristi was sick most of this season so she didn’t pay as much attention as normal and only watched each ep once! I haven’t been really talking about the eps ’cause I don’t wanna spoil her! It just feels so wrong…

And we’re starting Dunder Mifflin Infinity without branches this year! We’re gonna be without a branch for a few weeks at least! There’ve been a few of us hanging around all summer and we’ve been waiting for the new season to start for everyone to come back and now there’s no branch forum for everyone to show up to *sad face* We’ve still got our chat though!

I can’t wait to see Jim and Pam get married this season!

Beautiful.

They have faces!

Yay!! We picked up our new tv! We went all around town tonight and I already knew what deals I could find online so we actually ended up with a tv from town. It’s not a well-known brand, but I’m okay with that. We compared specs and everything and this was the best deal for the best quality. I’ve been just passing out at night since I can’t really watch the tv, but now I can go back to my dark circles from staying up all night watching Family Guy lol.

The Xbox is also on the way. I ordered it and all our accessories in one go and all the accessories shipped first! I was starting to worry, but I finally got a shipping confirmation for the Xbox about an hour ago. So I’ll have everything I need before the Xbox even gets here! The only thing we haven’t gotten yet is a wireless adapter for it to hook up to the net. I need to look around for a good deal on that. The only one I’ve found in town is the one that is the most expensive and people seem to have the most trouble with, so I’ll pass on that, and I really don’t think I’ll be able to stand running a cable from upstairs to downstairs…We’ll get it figured out though.

Say it ain’t so…

So Peter (one of my neighbors) and I have started re-watching Cowboy Bebop. It’s been forever since I’ve watched it through and he has a great projector to watch it on. While it’s certainly one of my loves, it’s not a fandom I keep up with because well, the show’s over, ya know?

So I can’t even tell you of the excitement I felt when I saw there were current articles about Cowboy Bebop when I hit up Google. That is, until I actually looked at the articles. Then I’m pretty sure I wept openly. In fact, it’s not often that a true frown just settles in on my face, but it’s very present when I think of the horrors in those articles.

They want to make a live action Cowboy Bebop. This is something that could only ever be good under the absolute most perfect conditions ever. You need the perfect team of writers, actors, producers, directors, etc. This is not the case.

Who wants to do the movie? Who has the rights to do the movie? Who wants to star in the freakin’ movie? Mother effing Keanu Reeves! At this point, I think the ball is rolling and at least a screenplay is in the works already and *big sigh* I just want to take everyone who would allow something like this to happen, throw them in stainless steel drums and toss them over a waterfall or something. Scare them back to sanity.

It’s just going to start up an annoying Bebop craze and we’ll hear about how much the movie sucks and therefore everything Bebop-related sucks by association, and I’m going to get so sick of that.

I wish people would stop remaking things and adapting things to movies and ruining them. If it ain’t broke, don’t break it!
