Can I Make Big Money Online is holding a contest for the owners’ new barter site called “Barter Genius“. They are giving away 500 dollars to one lucky winner. This is an entry into the contest. For more details about the contest click here.
Yeah, I know I’m actually using their suggested text, which I normally wouldn’t do, but Nyquil owns my stuffy head right now and I can’t pass up a chance at $500. I’ve got books to buy next week! You shouldn’t pass it up either.
We all like to Make Money Online. It’s just too convenient! Reason and Capitalism offers some great advice on how to do just that. Looking down the list, you’d think a lot of these things would be pretty obvious, but they really dial and down and tell you what you need to know. It’s great to see some lengthy detail that actually includes examples and really dials into the specifics. I’d like to quote a small part:
Be Honest
People can see through an insincere writing style. You need to actually care about both what you’re writing about and the people who will read it. Otherwise, you’ll just come off as an arrogant jerk. Search engines hate, and I mean hate jerks. Well. Other webmasters do at least, meaning you won’t get as many links as if you were sincere.
I really wish people would take more heed to that. If you don’t care about enemas, don’t write a 200 word post about enemas…
Ultra-runner Tim Borland is running 63 marathons in 63 days in order to raise funds and awareness for the A-T Children’s Project in their quest for a cure or life-improving therapies for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a rare, neurodegenerative disease that affects children, giving them the combined symptoms of cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and cancer. Children with A-T — born seemingly healthy — are usually dependent upon wheelchairs by the age of 10 and often do not survive their teens. To run with Tim, join a tailgate party, or make a donation, please visit theA-T CureTour website. There, you can also view the daily video blog produced by filmmakers who are making an independent documentary on the A-T CureTour and enter a contest to Win aNintendo Wii.
This disease affects an estimated 1 in 40,000 children, but it’s predicted that many who die young aren’t properly diagnosed–therefore it may be much more common than we know.
There is no cure for A-T, and there is currently no way to slow the progression of the disease. At this time, treatments are directed only toward partially alleviating some symptoms as they appear. Because A-T is a rare, “orphan” disease, very little research data is available on pharmaceutical therapies that may aid these children. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are used to help maintain flexibility, gamma-globulin injections help supplement the immune systems of A-T patients, and high-dose vitamin regimes are being undertaken with some moderate results.
Alright guys, we’re in the final stretch of the Blogger’s Choice Awards. Only the top three in each category are left and the votes are hidden so no one really knows who’s winning.
You probably remember my buddy Fab is up for best humor blog and he really wants this. I mean, fat kids on cake have nothing on him.
Besides, he’ll actually be at the award ceremony when they announce the winner–I don’t think the other two runners will be. How sad would that be for Fab not to win, eh?
So if you haven’t already done so, head on over and vote. Registration is required, but I’ve been signed up since the beginning and they haven’t spammed me yet so you’re safe!!
I’ve become so addicted to web contests! I look for them almost daily and bookmark the ones I’m interested in, sorting them by final date so I can enter them all in a timely manner! Yeah, it’s an addiction!
UltimateCoupons.com is running a contest on their blog, Everybody Loves Coupons, to win a Nintendo Wii, and a brand new copy of Mario Party 8! The contest runs until October 31st, after which, the winner will be chosen at random and other notable entrants will be receiving either some consolation prizes, or linky love–something to be later determined. Of course I’ll be entering on Aftershocks, I can’t resist! I’m working on a corny little poem =)
UltimateCoupons.com is your one stop for coupons, and at this time of year, who can resist saving money? I’ll admit I’ve become a little addicted to shopping online with coupons. I can’t resist a great deal, even if it still leaves me broke!!
I always tell myself I’m going to get a head start and not be blindsided when Christmas arrives, and this year I mean business. I’ve already figured out what I want to do for the majority of my gifts, and now I’m taking every chance I can get to add money to the Christmas fund.
Jo at Nanashi-Inc, is offering up a $50 drawing for blog entries about her contest. It’s pretty simple– you write up a 50-word minimum entry and link back to both her homepage and a direct link to the contest entry. Provide her with the link by commenting on the contest entry and viola! You’re done. You may now find yourself $50 richer on October 1st. Easy enough, right? So go join the fun.
Oh! Blogging With Cents has a fill in the blank contest going on! I think I’m gonna do mine nonsense-style! Here’s my story:
It happened about a month ago in class. I was singing a solo when I realized my Barbie undies could be seen. You have probably had that experience before. I felt sleepy , and I knew that soon I would have to pay the piper . I was a little worried about the ratio of cheeze whiz to cracker. But then, all of the sudden, I saw Vince McMahon coming right towards me!! I remembered what cowboy’s wife had told me. It was very important to sneeze and whip up a quick creme brulee. Before I knew it, I was given the tools and tips to succeed at yodeling. So you see, I really was a Jedi , and I decided I just had to find the six-fingered man.
…by the dark side!! I won the Darth Vader USB Flash Drive!! The link hasn’t even come through yet, but I’ve been checking the blog like crazy for the winning announcement! It works out perfectly too, since it should be here by the time I get back from Oklahoma, so I won’t be here to anxiously check the mail every day!
I’m waiting to hear back from them about where they’re actually ordering from, so I can send money to add the hoodie (protective cover/keychain) if they’re ordering from somewhere that offers it. If not, I’ll have to pay a little extra later, but I definitely wanna get the hoodie.
Let’s hope this is a sign of a great week to come!
Ah! There’s another one!!! This one’s Darth Vader. I could definitely go for Darth! I’m not sure whether or not this one comes with a Protohoodie though. I’m sure I could find one. This one is being given away by Enwikopedia. Oh my geek-cup runneth over with cool things I need! Gah!
Info for their contest can be found on their blog.
