I’m a little disappointed to be skipping gifts this year– not that I ever expect anything like sexy lingerie or jewelry…I just like to get some simple little flowers or a small token or something– really just anything that says, “Hey, I thought of you and wanted to let you know.”

I have to work alllll day on Saturday but I’m hoping to treat Ryan either to a late dinner or to lunch on Sunday to ‘celebrate.’ I just can’t seem to ignore it altogether. I know it’s pretty much a commercial holiday, but I love the idea of couples all over celebrating their love at the same time. Makes me smile.

I had to work for a few hours as well on Saturday, but we still cooked dinner together when I got home and cuddled up just to talk for a while.

We both agreed it was probably the best anniversary we’ve had.

So in celebration of our three years together, I’ve got just a little list of some of the things I love most about Ryan/us. I’ll cut it for those less inclined to enjoy the lovey dovey stuff ;)

Time to get gushy.

He never pulls away from my cold feet, in fact, he welcomes them and reaches out for them :)
He tucks me in and makes sure I’m comfy if I go to sleep before him or he comes in while I’m already asleep.
I understand him. (Trust me, that’s a feat)
He takes care of me.
He lets me take care of him.
We can depend on each other.
He’ll act completely ridiculous to cheer me up, or just to be ridiculous with me!
I trust him 100%. There’ve been many times I’ve had no clue where he was, but I’ve never once felt any concern about what he was doing, or who he was with.
He surprises me with flowers.
He distracts Willow when she’s particularly bugging me– even though he’s JUST as allergic to cats as I am.
He listens.
He apologizes.
He always opens the door for me.
He always finds my hand when we’re together.
There are times when he gets offended when I refer to things as  ‘his’– he prefers ‘ours’
He makes it very known how much he wants to take care of me.
I can see the love in his eyes.
He takes the time to understand why I might be upset rather than jumping to react.
He appreciates me.
When I wake him up, he always smiles as soon as he focuses on me.
He sees me the way I see myself. I don’t know how to explain that…
He makes up nicknames for me– when he uses them I know he’s absolutely focused and thinking about me.

I could probably add to this list daily….just sayin’.
