A hay ride with hover jets, you say?

Speaking of weird songs played at work….

Like a bike ride
With a jet pack on my back.
We got a moon-lit silhouette
That rivals the best.
Like a hay ride
With hover jets on either side
We’ll go the distance
Cause we can’t help but to act
Supernatural.

I’m sorry, but what were they on when they wrote this??

I have to choose?

I recently heard a song in which a question was posed. Answer: I am human AND I am dancer.

–@rainnwilson

I had to laugh when I read this on Twitter a few days ago because I’ve had a post sitting in my drafts about this for months.

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?

Certainly there’s a deeper meaning that’s just soaring right over my head, but every time this plays at work it has me quirking an eyebrow.

Long overdue

My last concert was in June 2008. Some of you probably gasped ’cause that’s a pretty bfd for me. Butch Walker will be back in Atlanta May 26 and while I hate driving that far, I’m freaking going. I missed the pre-sale, but luckily tickets didn’t sell out in 45 micro seconds this time so I got mine!

I’m positively itching for good live music. And I’m awful about seeing local bands ’cause part of the lure for me is singing along and just feeling the music I already love.

And love is certainly what I’d use to describe I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart. I can’t wait to hear this all live.

It’ll be general admission so I’ll figure out a little closer to time if I wanna get in line earlier, or push my way toward the front. I don’t need muscle supplements; I’m short, I have no problem making my way through a crowd. I may take it easy and just chill wherever I land though. I’m just so damn happy to be going. Not only has it been two years since my last live show, but it’s been even longer than that since I fell for Butch and decided I wanted to see him live. Can’t wait!

You’re welcome.

For the low, low price of FREE– you, too, can have these fabulous theme songs stuck in your head!

Day 30 → Whatever tickles your fancy

Hmm I guess they ran out of prompts. Thought they should have something specific for the final day– oh well!

I think I put up whatever tickled my fancy a few times more than they meant me to ;)

We’ll round it out with Cary Brothers. I can’t decide between “Ride” and “Blue Eyes” so you get both. There are actually two official videos for “Ride” but they both use the radio edit, which isn’t what I heard first, so of course it’s not the one I love ;) So yeah, this isn’t an official video.

Day 28 → This year, in great detail

This year is all of 28 days long. How about some Aqualung instead? Yeah? “Something to Believe In” sounds good to me.

Day 27 → This month, in great detail

….or not.

The Perishers “Weekends”

I have no idea what’s up with this background image, so just ignore it.

Day 26 → Your week, in great detail

Really? The post for a day in great detail was long enough. I’m not even going to torture you that way. Instead, listen to this wonderful Greg Laswell song.

The Script

I love new music! All day yesterday I was running across people talking about The Script and I filed it away to check out later until I asked Ben for suggestions on something to listen to and he brought them up as well so I dove right in. Breakeven was the first suggestion I got so I hit up YouTube and opened a window with the lyrics and by the first chorus I said, “holy shit, I love this song.” With lyrics like– when a heart breaks, no, it don’t break even, and my favorite– what am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you, it was a guaranteed Jade hit, but it really is just a fantastic song. It’s got a great beat that makes you just want to belt it out at the top of your lungs, catchy lyrics that make sure it’ll be cemented to your brain, and *gasp* some damn good lyrical content to round it out! I was certainly impressed. I’m picking up their self-titled album this week. Check it out and see for yourself:

(Let me know if that will actually play in your window– my old plugin isn’t working anymore.)

That’s how I am with music– because I listen to so much, yes, I download, but I do it to sample. If I only like a song or two then I’m done, but if you’ve got a solid album that I can really enjoy, I have absolutely no problem picking up your album on sale and giving you my support. But if I bought entire albums for all the one-hit-wonders in my collection, I wouldn’t be able to feed myself!

The Script are an Irish Pop Rock band from Dublin–currently located in London. They’ve been around since ‘08 but I don’t think they really hit US airwaves until early ‘09. I’m not necessarily comparing them to Jason Mraz, but I’d easily say if you enjoy him, you’ll enjoy The Script.

Let me know what you guys think! I’m off to check out some other suggestions from Brian.

Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Death Cab For Cutie– What Sarah Said

The official video is sufficiently depressing as well.
