I’ve run my errands. I even picked up ink, and a quick dinner for tonight which I’ve already cooked and served.

I’ve completed all of my ACED (Typing) work through next Tuesday. We’re not having class then, so I’ve done my homework, tomorrow’s classwork, and Tuesday’s classwork/homework. I even did a little more than I needed to…

I cleaned the upstairs bathroom (umm…I can’t even tell you how gross it was in there) and I’ve taken out all the trash in the apartment.

I’ve even started and all but completed my “christmas gift idea” list. All I have left, really, is Mom, and she’ll basically tell me what she wants; Kristi–the idea will come to me though, I know; and there are a few people I’ve listed gift baskets for, so if I don’t find what I’m looking for on those, I’ll have to reconsider. The list is the big part. Now I can start picking up stuff as I have the extra money.

What have I not touched? My Spanish. I’m still in decent shape though. I’ve now gotten everything out of the way that I needed to. I may or may not get into it tonight. I’m pretty sure I will since the only distraction really left for me tonight is Josh and Lego Star Wars and even if we play, it’ll be for a limited amount of time as Josh has to study also, and he’s much more responsible so he’ll cut us off.

Can I just say……I really hate going to bed alone. I hate it when Ryan’s not here. What do I have to look forward to? An empty king-sized bed, cold feet with no one to warm them, and no goodnight kisses. How can I possibly go to sleep without someone tuning into a really crappy movie I’ve already seen too many times?

I’ll end the mushiness there, but ya know–my blog.

Rar!

Alright, hit a little snag in class this morning. All the work I did this weekend was lost in space somewhere. By the time I finished what I was working on, it somehow showed up. *Relief* So that’s at least one class I won’t have to worry about when I get home. Actually, I might even end up being a day ahead of them when I get back. That would be peachy.

I just took my Biology test. What a crappy experience. I got there and the secretary was a real ass to me. He was like, “You were supposed to come by at 9:45.” No, sorry, I told my professor I was done with class at 10:45. He just told me to come by sometime today and take it. Could you chill, please? Also, my prof didn’t really leave any instructions, so when I asked, the secretary was just really rude about it. I understand he didn’t have the answers to my questions, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t have to talk to me like I was an idiot for asking.

I really don’t feel good about that test at all. It wasn’t nearly as complicated as I expected, but unfortunately, I hadn’t grasped the basics as well as I thought I did. It doesn’t make me feel very confident about my upcoming Astronomy exam. I’ve got to go take that at eight 1:45 or 3:00. She gave me the choice to just come by when I’m ready.

Ryan’s cooking for me tonight so I won’t be leaving town until tomorrow. We’re supposed to be leaving around lunch, so I’ll have to get up early enough to finish all my last-minute stuff and drive to Mom’s. We’re getting a hotel tomorrow night, so it won’t be a straight 15-hour drive. That’s a definite plus.

Last I heard, we’ll be driving a PT Cruiser for the trip. That’s what they rented last time and ended up really liking it. I’ve never ridden with Roger so I have no idea what kind of driving to suspect. He’s a former police chief so I’m assuming there won’t be any granny-driving. A trip like this would be a great opportunity for some radar detector reviews, but those aren’t really necessary with Roger’s history. Actually, I’m not sure if he still carries any type of badge, or identification that signifies his stint in the police force. I know he has one of those blue line decals on his vehicle, but we won’t have that on a rental. Which reminds me, I need to email my uncle about getting me a new F.O.P. decal for my tag since we didn’t switch the license plates on the cars when we traded.

Okay, I’ve got so much to do and I’m getting nowhere. I need to list everything out and get started. Someone come finish my laundry and pack for me?? Please??

Night of the Stars

People, Randomlings 1 Comment »

All the roomies and neighbors are headin’ out to a party pretty soon. It’s the first annual “Night of the Stars” party where you come dressed as your favorite celeb. I’m not going; I didn’t realize it was tonight until a few hours ago and I just don’t really want to, but I’m excited, nonetheless. My roommate, Andrew, is going as Kelly!!! I can’t even wait to see him dressed up. It’s pretty much gonna be amazing. I promise I’ll post photos after Keri does his makeup. She’s going as Amy Winehouse. She ended up with a pretty great wig.

I can’t wait for the Facebook pictures. You guys don’t even know how seriously theatre majors get into costume parties. Of course, there’ll be at least one or two who cop out and come in some sort of animal costume, most likely a slutty cat or something, but I’m expecting some amazingness out of these guys.

When they did the 80’s Prom, they did a lot of pics of each person or ‘couple’ as they came in. They should do something like that tonight, for those of us too lame to show up.

I’m gonna go see what Josh has decided for his costume.

Thief returns with apology

People, Randomlings No Comments »
WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A burglar visited Graeme Glass’ home in New Zealand twice in one day — first to steal some goods and later to return them, along with a heartfelt apology note.

The thief struck while Glass was at work in the southern resort of Queenstown on Tuesday.

The burglar smashed a window to gain entry and made off with a laptop computer, a camera, and Glass’ wallet with an American Express credit card.

The thief returned the goods later in the day, along with a new basketball and two pairs of gloves bought on the stolen credit card.

Glass and his wife, Shirley, discovered the loot piled on their kitchen table with a neat, handwritten full-page note from the burglar saying he was sorry for “violating the safety and security of your home.”

The robber also promised to leave cash in Glass’ mailbox to pay for the smashed window when he had enough money.

“I have never written truer words when I say that I wish that I had never done this to you and your family,” the note read. “From the bottom of my heart I am sorry.”

Queenstown police said they have a description of the thief from staff in the stores where the credit card was used.

For real?! Based on what was mentioned of the note, I actually hope the guy gets a reduced punishment. I mean, I probably shouldn’t feel that way, but hey, we all make mistakes and he corrected his pretty quickly.

I can’t even imagine how I’d feel if I were the victim here. Actually, I’d probably still be pretty pissed even though the guy set it straight. Eh, who knows? Maybe his note would’ve won me over.

He works hard for the money

People, Randomlings No Comments »

I don’t even understand my boyfriend’s ridiculously strong work ethic. In the time I’ve known him, he’s always had at least two jobs. At one point, he was delivering pizzas, putting in 25+ hours in the scene shop, working at Wild Adventures on the weekends (14+ hour days) and going to school….and somehow still finding time for me.

He’s scene shop assistant for our theatre department. This requires that he put in at least 20 hours a week of work in the shop. I’ve never known him to do just that minimum. This guy loathes getting up in the morning, but I’ve seen him get up at 9 am and head to that shop, when he didn’t have to be there until 1. Why? I’m sure I don’t know!

He’s been in technical theatre since his middle school days. Being in it that long, he’s had a lot of opportunities to advance in his craft, and been handed a lot of opportunities many others have to work and pay to get. For instance, he’s had courses paid for, so that he could become certified with certain voltages of electricity. I know this has occurred twice, but I couldn’t tell you what the two certifications were specifically. He’s really great about explaining things to me so that I’ll understand them, but that doesn’t mean I can remember them all any better.

It hasn’t happened quite yet, but there’s been talk of Ken paying for him to get his Class B license so he’ll be able to drive one of the rigs they have.

If this summer had worked out as it was originally intended, Marty planned a lot of wielding time for Ryan. Ryan can wield just fine, but Marty wanted to get scraps and stuff and let Ryan perfect his technique and learn a few other techniques. I think eventually Ryan plans to take wielding classes, or get certified, or whatever theres is to do.

Without completing school, he could have a job paying over $40,000 a year, just starting off. He could have that tomorrow.

Even though I never know what he’s talking about when he babbles about scrims, gels, a router, plasma cutter, or the millions of different sound/light boards used…I’m so proud of him. I’m amazed by his dedication to getting things done, and getting them done right.

A lot of people don’t know how smart Ryan is. He knows what he knows, and he knows it thoroughly. He’s good at what he does. Hell, I’ll even admit I forget how smart he is occasionally. Then he gets on a tangent about something and I’m just sitting there, watching the gears turn, and thinking, “Wow…he’s incredible.”

It’s love and I’m in it.

Middle Name Meme

People, Randomlings 5 Comments »

Skeet was kind enough to tag me so I could play along with the Middle Name Meme. Yes, I’m fully aware I can just do memes anyway, but it’s just more fun to me if I’m officially tagged!

The Rules:

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts.

4. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Shall I give you time to throw out some guesses of what my middle name may be? It’s really not hard, I promise ;)

*waiting*

Okay I’m impatient.

J– I knew who John Mayer was waaaay before you…and he was much better back then.
A– I have severe allergies. I’m even allergic to cats, but I’ve always owned one.
D– I honestly can’t tell you how many DVDs I own, but I know it’s a ridiculous amount.
E– Ed is an old nickname of mine, for Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV.

(J was lame…I got stuck though =( )

Now to tag some others! Kristi and Catie for sure, and I’ll add two others later!

Almost there

For the most part I’ve got everything straight. About 10 minutes ago I secured my last class in my schedule. I’m relieved and annoyed at the same time. The majority of my classes are on MWF, that’s how I like my schedule. I was scheduled for my first computer class on TR 2-3:15. That way I can be at work by 4, and occasionally I can work 6-1 and then be off after class. I was really happy with that setup. Unfortunately, my computer class is the one I was having so much trouble getting into. I was able to get overrides into all my other classes so my schedule was back to where I originally had it. I found an opening in the class for TR 9:30-10:45 so I had to take it. Trust me, I’ll be checking back often to see if I can switch over to my original time slot, but until then, at least I’ve got the class!

I also picked up my iPod yesterday! It’s even prettier than my old one! All my music is on it, now I’ve just got to pick my first video to put on it! I’ll post pictures later. Right now I need to go eat and buy my books….err…the ones I can afford.
