So when my computer died, I said, “Screw it…” and started re-reading Harry Potter. It sucked me back in a lot stronger than I thought it would since I already know what happens…
Now that the computer is back, I’ve gotten the rest of Smallville back, and a show I was working on getting called Popular. You may remember it as a WB show 1999-2000. It’s got a lot of faces you’d recognize now from various places, so it’s fun to see that.
Besides that, ohhhh the entertaining teen drama! It’s got the soap opera theme down!
So I need to finish Smallville, but I’d started watching Popular while I was waiting on it and reading Harry Potter….plus I’ve got more than my share of hours at work—I don’t even have time to be bored this summer, and I think I’m okay with that.

I’m tingling with anticipation for the season finale of The Office tonight! There’s been SO much speculation and I hardly know what to listen to! We started being told that everything was really under lock and key and that they were taking more extreme measures to be secretive than the guys at LOST, but now we’re hearing all these supposedly ‘definite’ things like the name of the episode which suggests a character leaving…I just don’t know how much of it to believe and how much of it to write-off as a distraction tactic!
And are Jim and Pam gonna get engaged before the season’s over?!! Not gonna lie, there will probably be audible squeals if they do. For real.
Fire up the popcorn machines guys, ’cause this isn’t a show—it’s a spectacular event!!!!!!

Kristi has taken to regularly watching…*gasp* American Idol. Not only that, she’s even blogged about it!
I understand that she likes one of the contestants; he’s good, but I think she’d be better off just watching his performances on YouTube.
I’ve tried talking to her, but she’s just not coming to her senses. Is there a drug treatment center for American Idol addicts, because I think addiction is where she’s headed and I don’t know what to do to save her! The television gods are going to smite a good show as punishment for her watching this mess!
I think maybe The Office should add another night to its schedule to offset her desire to watch this…

So this is mostly for Kristi since she’s not online and I’m not telling this story in a text! I had an Office dream last night and it was so much fun!
There had been like a series of fans winning a chance to spend a day on the set and I was the last one to win. It was crazy because they had been shooting a big story in my grandmother’s house? Of course it was the dream version of her house–with an exaggerated back yard that stretches for miles and a third story, complete with freaky secret passage that leads through the whole house and then into some subterranean maze–I love the dream version of my grandmother’s house; it’s fun!
Anyway, I got there and true to dream form, everyone kept phasing in and out of being the character or being the actor. Either way was amazing fun. I got there and they decked me out with swag galore–t-shirts, bobble heads of the entire cast, kitchen stuff, I can’t even remember it all.
I distinctly remember playing some nutso board game based on Dwight–I played with Dwight and Michael. It was something Rainn had made so it was pretty basic, but it was full of crazy Dwight scenarios and I got to keep it. And of course everyone got excited when they found out it was my grandmother’s house. I showed them the secret passage and then I remember something about us all settling on where everyone would sleep for the night? I dunno–I guess we were getting ready for some sort of slumber party! I just know I woke up and thought, “Omg, I gotta remember to tell Kristi.” It was a hilarious dream. If I’m lucky, maybe there will be a continuation!

I’m still trudging through Smallville! I’m halfway through season 4 now. I could be further along but I slowed it down for a few reasons.
I’m so unhappy with the last story line that ended! **SPOILER WARNING** Alicia, the teleporting girl just got killed. Clark was so close to some decent happiness! I know she was crazy for a little stretch, but she really was better! I mean damn, she took a bullet just so Clark wouldn’t have to pull any hero moves that might’ve leaked his secret. I was so mad when she was gone.
I’ve come to the point where I don’t understand why the Kents haven’t hooked themselves up with some killer life insurance–they know they’re constantly in danger and every time something happens, they freak out because they might lose the farm. I mean hell, at this point they can still take advantage of their Luthor connections and really made sure they’re set if one of them dies.
I’m only half enjoying this story line with Lana’s witchy ancestor. I’m enjoying the changes it’s bringing out in Lana, but notsomuch everything else surrounding it.
I just hope everything pulls up and I don’t regret all the time I’ve put into getting the show…

Well, I’m enjoying Smallville. I’ve gotten to season 3 and I’m finally getting to stuff I’ve never seen. The story lines are getting more interesting, but we’re still stuck on some of the same things happening over and over again.
Clark pisses his friends off and they get over it without any real interrogation as to what made him act the way he did (red kryptonite), Lana and Chloe have random arguments about their shared love of Clark, Lex and Lionel pretend to have some sort of normal father-son relationship, the little red truck gets smashed up….and apparently they have some really awesome truck accident lawyer because they still haven’t lost the farm and that little red truck just keeps coming back! I know they got a newer one at some point, but they’ve both been totaled more than once, I know. Every main character except for like 3 of them have exposed to meteor stuff in one way or another that’s made them act totally out of character…which has been interesting but really, all this repetitive stuff is what makes it so easy to get bogged down.
I’m keeping a steady momentum though. I figure if I just keep it up, I won’t have much time to over think all the little downfalls and I can just enjoy the story.

[The following post may contain spoilers.]
The Office was fantastic! The Dinner Party was everything ‘awkward’ is made of! I love the Michael/Jan relationship and all their little quirks. Jan has moved in and taken over everything, redecorated adding a wall sconce, a piece of art there–she even has two rooms of her own–best part: Michael is sleeping on a little bench at the FOOT of the bed!
Omg and the argument of Michael always doing what Jan wants–three procedures for a vasectomy, reversal and then another vasectomy!?
And Hunter’s song?!
And the “That’s what she said” in this episode was probably the best one ever….
I wish this one had been an hour long, I really do…

Are networks getting that desperate? E! has picked up the series which will follow the family, minus the only member who’s actually famous….
Looks like it will be focusing on Lindsay’s mother and her 14 year old sister who is trying to get into the business herself.
Really though, without Lindsay making any appearances, how many people will be entertained by this? I really don’t understand how anyone thought this would be a good idea. Maybe making television shows is easier than I thought. Hey, let’s make a show about mortgage lenders! We’ll follow them around from start to finish–building people up with their pitches and bullying them into terms they don’t agree with! I bet that show could run….ohhh maybe 1/3 of a season. After that we’ll just toss in some reruns.
I could run television. All of it. I’d rather Kristi do it though.

I’m watching Home Improvement (I love Home Improvement) on TBS and they keep advertising A Walk to Remember showing this week. You won’t believe what they’re setting it up as though. They’re playing it up as a ‘teen’ movie where a plain Jane transforms into a major hottie and gets the ‘coolest’ guy in school.
What movie did they screen!? Or do they just think their viewers are hold up in some Branson condos, cut-off from the rest of the world?
When this movie came out, even if you missed out on the full plot, you at least found out it was a tear-jerker. How many plane-Jane to hottie teen movies do you know of that are tear-jerkers?
I wonder how many ‘teens’ are going to tune in….

One Tree Hill started back last week. It was SO bad.
This week isn’t really any better. It’s like they’re teetering on the edge of doing something worth watching, but they just won’t go there! Like I said to Kristi last week, it’s essentially a soap opera so why won’t they just embrace it!
I need addiction treatment for this damn show. It’s not even worth watching anymore but I have to. It took almost 20 years to stop watching Days of Our Lives and I still can’t resist it when I pass it…*sigh* One day I’ll get over crappy tv.
