I actually had a great week!

From Tuesday on, I actually had a pretty fantastic week! I really needed the pick-me-up. I could babble on about these few days, but I’ll just hit some highlights.

Tuesday, all I had was one class, and there we just sat while part of the class did presentations. After class I came home to find Lego Star Wars for the Wii was waiting on me. (I cashed in some online shopping credits I had) So I got to spend an hour having fun with that. From there I got my free Birthday sub from Firehouse (omg yum!) then I finished my night sitting around the P-view fire with some awesome people, having s’mores and then I topped it off with a bottle of wine to ring in the start of my 23rd Birthday!

Wednesday we really slept in and took a nice drive to Tallahassee. On top of Olive Garden being amazing, we had a great time just talking without the radio even on there and back. We were going to watch a movie there, but it just wouldn’t work out time-wise for us to be back for Willow’s shots, so we came back and took care of her and then went to see Twilight here in town. I’ll review it later, but overall I enjoyed it. We spent a little more time around the fire and then crashed.

Thursday we made it to my mom’s side of the family and had tons of awesome food and had a great time playing with Jessalyn and Joshua. I wanted to take videos of them being ridiculously adorable, but I pulled out my camera and realized my compact flash card was still in my computer– oops! We made it to Dad’s side and actually had a good time hanging out and telling jokes with my aunt there.  We made arrangements for Daddy to settle some things in a spare car he has so we can pick that up Sunday just so I can get around more freely until we have my settlement.

I got a little cash from Mom, Daddy, and Grandma, but my aunt actually surprised me with a gift card as well. I assumed it was just a few bucks because she doesn’t usually do gifts with me (she already has over 10 grandchildren, she’s gifted out lol) but she sent me a text later to let me know it was actually $100! I was floored! I absolutely didn’t expect that and it could not have come at a better time! I’m not normally a thank you card type of person, but you had better believe she’ll be getting one.

We came home with an entire chocolate meringue pie from my favorite bakery (I love my mommy) and my dad found my old Red Ryder bb gun so we came home and shot cans and bottles for a good hour with our neighbor. Both Ryan and Carl were impressed with the power in that little gun, and with my aim ;)

Today, well, today was bearable. It was terribly long because I was scheduled 12-9, but they fed us and I got to stay busy with a lot of sidework and less time just being stuck at a register so it went pretty quickly.

I got some incredible news today though! The vet doesn’t want to make any promises, of course, but he really thinks with the progress Willow has already made, she’ll be a case to come out of the diabetes! He wants to do another all-day testing next Friday and probably decide then if he wants to go ahead and lower her dosage a bit.

After that, I found out that the testing they did today wasn’t $20 for every test they did, it covered the whole day!!!!

Ryan got some work this weekend too! He was going to be gone Friday and Saturday, but it came up so last-minute that we couldn’t come up with other arrangements for taking Willow to the vet today and that had to be done. So he’s only working Saturday, but it’ll be a few hundred bucks in hand, and possibly a sign of more work to come.

I just need the good news to keep rolling in! So far, year 23 is shaping up to be a good one ;)
