“I’ve had bigger chunk in my bunk”

Ohhh I love television. Just watched OTH from last week and it was a damn good episode. Lots of good fun–something they’ve been skipping out on for a while now. Of course they brought back all the drama at the end of the ep for good measure. Can someone please tell me why in the hell there’d be a FEDERAL investigation on a high school basketball game? Really though….

I’m ridiculously sad about Gilmore Girls being done. Even more sad that it had to be decided so last-minute so we don’t get a big dramatic, full sendoff. By the time I learned it was finished, there were only two episodes left. Tomorrow night is the last episode ever. Buffy was the first show I ever watched in its entirety. Through it all, I only ever missed one episode. It was the finale of season two and OMG I was in turmoil trying to find a way to see that episode. Even when it moved to UPN and we didn’t have it, I found ways to see it. One season it was waiting until the end and watching it all on VHS from a friend of a friend who recorded it all. After that it was watching crappy quality downloads up to two weeks later online. Luckily we’ve come a long way from that and now when I miss a show, I can get it in high-def on my computer as little as an hour after it airs =)

Anyhow, Gilmore Girls was the first show I attached myself to after Buffy. It’s been at the top of my list since day one and I’m so sad to see it go. On the off chance that anyone reading this is behind, I’ll put the rest of my thoughts behind the cut…..

I’m so upset about the way they left things with Rory and Logan. I get that she’s all independent and she can do things on her own, but goddammit you can be happy and successful AND in love. And she’s totally reacting too calmly. For all the things Rory and Logan have been through, it really just didn’t seem right for her to be able to say no so easily and act all c’est la vie about it. She should be crushed. I don’t care if she’s Rory-fucking-Gilmore….losing Logan should’ve had a WAY bigger impact on her. They were perfect together. They balanced each other out. Yes, I realize I’m talking about television characters, but might I point out again that I’ve been invested since day 1, thanks :-P. It’s just a bullshit copout so the show can end the way that it started and I don’t like that one bit. I’d have been happier even with a huge cliffhanger of knowing Rory and Logan were together and moving to California to start their lives. She’s a big girl now, she can let go of Mommy’s skirt. Gaaaah. Okay, half of the frustration is just because the show is ending. Sorry…
