Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody’s fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo’s burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.
Kristi brought this to my attention earlier and all I could say was “squeeee!!” But as she not-so-gently reminded me, it’s on FOX, which means it’ll be prematurely canceled. Can this please not just be Tru Calling all over again? I loved that show, dammit!
I’m only a little wary of the fact that reminds me so much of the premise of The Island. Mostly I’m just excited to see what Joss has in store for us now!

Fox also cancelled “Firefly” (which was one of Joss’ shows) prematurely - as well as TONS of others. They’re such bastards.. but anyways, I’m sure I’ll watch because - dude, It’s Eliza! She’s my girl crush and though I haven’t seen too much from Joss aside from his stints on The Office and Veronica Mars; I hear he’s amazing.

Yeah, I didn’t fall all over Firefly though. I think it came at bad timing. I’m getting ready to re-watch it all!

I don’t know if this will catch on as well as Buffy. Firefly was a good show, it just wasn’t promoted enough in this day and age (I didn’t catch it till it was gone…).
Maybe he’ll have more luck?

Unfortunately, I’m not expecting it to be a big success at all; I’m just looking forward to a new show I’ll, no doubt, love. If not–I’ve got all 7 seasons of Buffy on my shelf to make up for it.

That show does sound interesting but yeah, it’s FOX, it will probably get canceled.
I noticed that they cancel good shows and leave the crappy ones on.
I hate Bones. I don’t know how people can watch that freaking show.
