In the summer of 2005, I decided I wanted to own every Johnny Depp DVD I could. Why? Well, beyond the obvious reason of Johnny Depp being ridiculously gorgeous, he’s a phenomenal actor. He chooses such great films to take on and I love that. Obviously there’ve been times when he’s taken a less-than-stellar role, but all is forgiven. There are some I’ve yet to see, but of what I’ve watched, I can only think of 3 that I haven’t loved.
I went at my task pretty hard for a bit, but obviously funds ran low and I had to give up for a bit. I’ve decided now, I’ll give myself a new deadline. By next fall semester, I want the rest of these DVDs. i fucking LOVE what’s eating gilbert grape. i need that on dvd. i haven’t seen it in years. “match in the gas tank…boom, boom!”
i remember pete and i rented “from hell” one night, thinking it was going to be delightfully creepy. we ended up making fun of it the entire time. i remember this one line that we thought was absolutely hilarious: i want to say that johnny depp offered some lady grapes for something or another, and she rasped (literally, her voice rasped), “you have grapes? you are SO REFINED!!!” and she was serious. and it was funny.

Yeah Kristi and I were just talking about it last night. From Hell is one of the three that I don’t love. I didn’t think it was a bad movie, just wasn’t good for me.
I was helping her remember which movie it was and “grapes were a big fucking deal” was one of my clues lol
