okay so you know in the beginning of Sweet Home Alabama when he takes her to tiffany’s and has her pick out her ring? yeah i totally lived the geek version of that tonight! ryan had me meet him at best buy and when i got there, he had me pick out a computer!!!!! so now i have a new computer that has way more ram and memory than my old computer could ever dream of having, even with memory upgrades. i’m still in shock. at first i really didn’t want him to do it, but i understood why he wanted to and that he had fully thought it out and everything and then when we got down to picking one, it turned out that we got a great deal that got him a 17″ flat panel and an all-in-one printer so i feel a lot better about it since he got some cool upgrades in the process. and *squee* we have a mail-in thing that we’ll get windows vista for free when it comes out. i wasn’t planning on getting it, but i really wanted to play with it. i’m stoked about that.
so we hooked everything up and networked with my old computer so i could move some stuff to this one and ryan left once he got that started for me and he said when i went to hook up the net that it probably wouldn’t work without the setup disks but i should try. so i did, and yeah, it totally didn’t even prompt me to go through any setup crap. it just connected automatically. no questions asked. i’m pretty damn thrilled about that too.
the move is going smoothly enough. brit is being pretty normal. she goes back and forth from being cool with everything to kinda not talking to me. i understand though. it’s not like i expected her to be excited about this or anything. it’s all gravy. i think we’ll come out just fine in all this and i’m really happy about that.
i have my pre-op tomorrow. which reminds me that i need to go get all my paperwork out of the car, but everyone is hanging out right outside our door and i’m being anti-social….well that and i have a new computer…screw human interaction! i have technology!
okay i keep forgetting the crap i wanted to talk about so yeah…

exciting! yay for jadehead’s excellent boyfriend and yay for new computers. and a coupon to get a free upgrade to vista? holy shit, batman! not to be nosy, but how much did your new comp end up being?
