Procrastination–that’s my job!
Posted in General on 05/13/2008 11:33 am by JadeI’m working on a little self-improvement this summer. I’m guilty of something I’m pretty positive we’re all guilty of–getting annoyed with someone for procrastinating when it comes to something trivial. I mean, we all procrastinate; there’s no reason to get annoyed with someone when they’re putting off doing something pretty trivial when you know you wouldn’t do it either if you didn’t just feel like immediately doing it!
For instance, Ryan filed for an extension on his taxes because of course he waited until the last minute and ended up having to work out of town the entire week before the due date. He very easily could’ve gotten them done in about 20 minutes on the night they were due, but instead, I have a feeling it’ll be October before he does them. I’m trying to give gentle reminders so that he’ll get his rebate without any problems, but other than that, I’m trying really hard to remember that it’s not affecting me, so I have nothing to say about it. Same with his car insurance; it has to be changed over out of his mom’s name by the 15th of this month. She’s been sending him paperwork for it since January. Hopefully he’s going later today to get it all taken care of.
I’m not expecting miracles. No one’s perfect and I don’t think anyone can always avoid getting mad over something trivial, but that’s just my goal for this summer–to actively try to think before I get annoyed and just try to be more understanding.
