Sweet Catastrophe

How is it that you can get so much done when you have so little you have to do. I suffer from an odd case of laziness. I’m only lazy when I know I have scheduled things to do.

In between classes and work, I can’t get anything done. It’s like I’m determined to hold onto any little bit of free time I may find.

I wouldn’t call myself lazy though. When I really get going on school stuff, I’m gone, man. And at work–I do far more than I’m expected to on any given night.

It’s similar when I get ready to clean here at home. If I start cleaning while one of the guys is home, I feel like I’m obligated to clean. I’m really not sure why. It really makes me not want to though, ya know?

This weekend, I’m not scheduled for work Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Friday ended up being a regular day off, and I asked for the weekend off. Lifehouse is in Florida right now and I couldn’t decide for certain which show I wanted to see so I took the whole weekend off. I’ll be in Tallahassee tomorrow night to see them. [Oh and on that note, can we all PLEASE keep our fingers crossed that I don't run into any problems? I've had the worst luck trying to see them the last year or so...ugh...I need this damn concert. Seriously.]

Anyway, I’m on my 7th load of laundry. I’ve taken out all the trash in the house–5 black bags full. [Nothing gross, I promise--we just all have a habit of not getting rid of old fast food containers, receipts, junk mail, etc. It's all just messy, not gross--promise!] I’ve also managed two loads of dishes and three batches of chocolate chip cookies. I went grocery shopping, and I’ve caught up on a lot of little things I wanted to do online. I’ve swept the stairs and straightened up a lot of random places in the apt. I’m about to go clean out the freezer and fridge, and at 10, I’ll finally get to go watch the Improv Troupe! After that, I’m either gonna let myself be dragged to a party–I don’t want to, but I have some persuasive pals–or I’ll be getting a music folder ready for Fab. It’s time for him to really experience Lifehouse =)

It’s amazing how much I can get done when I don’t feel like I have to do anything.

This is not to be confused with the kind of productiveness I find when there’s homework to be avoided.
