So, because of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Daylight Saving Time starts 4 weeks early this year. This change “is expected to save 10,000 barrels of oil each day due to reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours.” Well that’s all good and well. Whatever…but in reading up on all of this, I learned something I had never known. I’m sure I’ve heard it, read it, etc, but it never registered until today that while during Fall we’re on “eastern standard time,” during daylight saving time, it’s called, “eastern daylight time.” That all made sense as well until I realized that now, Daylight Saving Time is about a week short of 8 months now, wouldn’t that make it the ’standard’ time? It’s pretty much ridiculous how stuff like that bugs me.

Speaking of things that bug me, after my test this morning, I decided to go get some McDonald’s breakfast. One of those huge, loud, dieseling trucks was behind me at the drive-thru. I couldn’t hear myself speak, nor could the person working the window. Looking in my mirror, it became pretty apparent that the truck was not for any sort of need, more to make the guy look ‘bad.’ I wanted to drop some large construction nails under his over-inflated tires.

It’s bittersweet for the weekend to be here. As of 9:30 this morning, I’m on Spring Break as far as school is concerned, but I have to work all day Saturday–closing, then Sunday, after losing an hour of sleep due to Daylight Saving time (oh by the way, I also learned it’s not supposed to have an ‘S’ after saving) we have a Front-end meeting at 7 am, then she has me scheduled 11-8, which is outside my availability in the first place, but when I get out of there I have to drive to Atl….and probably get lost trying to find my way to Ryan’s mom’s. I promise I’m not looking forward to that. And of course the boys left me with loads of trash to take out before I go, and I spent all my time doing Ryan’s laundry before he left, so now I’ve got to catch up on mine. I don’t wanna.
