Twilight Music

Being a music nut and falling in love with a book (or entire series, for that matter) eventually leads to crossovers.

There’s no shortage of Twilight playlists rolling around, but I have two songs that I absolutely adore that fall into the Twilight series too perfectly for my ears. I had to share, if for no other reason than they’re just amazing songs as is.

Since there’s two songs and lyrics get lengthy, I’ll hide them away. Enjoy!

First up is Breathe Me by Sia.

To me, this is absolutely a Bella/Jacob song. Without question.

Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And, the worst part is there’s no-one else to blame

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
and needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

Ouch I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found,
Yeah I think that I might break
Lost myself again and I feel unsafe

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
and needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
and needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

And then there’s Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy.

For me, this one isn’t totally cut and dry as far as the meaning in the song, but there are so many instances of imagery that feel like they were pulled directly from a variety of scenes throughout the whole series.

Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images

You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick

I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you’d want the same for me

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I’m trying not to think about you
Can’t you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should’ve known you’d bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me
Images

And when you left you kissed my lips
You told me you’d never ever forget these images, no

I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you’d want the same for me

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I’m trying not to think about you
Can’t you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should’ve known you’d bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you’re gone and I’m haunted
And I bet you are just fine
Did I make it that easy
To walk right in and out of my life?

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I’m trying not to think about you
Can’t you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should’ve known you’d bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

Of course, these have both spent an absolutely extensive amount of time blaring through my headphones and speakers. If anyone wants them, I’m more than willing to send them on!

I love your new layout. It is beautiful!

I’m sorry I haven’t been a very good blog friend lately. Do you have an option to subscribe to your blog via email so I am sent a link when you have a new post? I would be a lot better that way. . .
