Sweet Catastrophe

Have you ever seen a cat sleep with its eyes open?! I have now!

Ryan and I spent an incredibly lazy evening last night, watching movies and then he took up his laptop and I dove into a book. (By the way, Lesson: always call and ask about a restaurant’s delivery route instead of just believing what’s listed on their magnets before you drive across town. I’m lookin’ at you Jimmy John’s!)

We let Smokey in to hang out for a while and he just curled up in bed with us and passed out. After a while, Willow finally decided to join us in her normal spot, but she couldn’t take her eyes off Smokey. So much so that she ended up falling asleep with her eyes wide open!

I had no idea until she started making dream noises, but looking wide awake, I got a little worried that something was wrong. I poked her a little and she didn’t move. I lifted her paw and dropped it and she didn’t so much as twitch. I lifted her little head clear off the bed and plopped it back down with no response! Finally I just picked her up and cradled her and shook her a little and she shook awake looking confused as all get out!

It was damn funny when I realized she was sleeping with her eyes open but holy crow if she didn’t give me a scare!
