yesterday was my first real day at work. yeah so i hate it a lot. someone called in so i was BY MYSELF from like 6-10. closing all alone when i’ve barely had any training. thaaanks. they actually kinda pissed me off ’cause they also expected me to do all the closing duties which consist of cleaning all the registers, emptying the trash, sweeping the front end, and straightening/refilling all the endcaps. all while running back and forth to my register to ring up customers with only a slight idea of what the hell i was even doing. let’s not even think of the back/foot/leg pain from working on concrete floors for 6 hours–and considering how long it’s been since i’ve done this much work, let’s just say it was terrible and leave it at that.
i’m not really sure what i’m gonna do. i know i’m gonna keep applying at other places but i don’t think they’ll be able to match my pay. it’s crazy because from what i’ve seen, they have really great customer service but they don’t give a damn about their employees.
anyhow, today i went to hollywood video and they had a buy 2 get 2 free deal going on so i bought Red Eye, Robots, The Corpse Bride, and Waiting. i also rented Imagine Me & You (highly recommend that–it was fantastic) and Just My Luck (it was about as good as i expected from lindsay lohan) and i’m currently watching What A Girl Wants on tv. hooray for unplanned girly movie day!
i was really tired but realized i had to get up and go to wal mart to pick up a prescription ’cause i’ll be at work all day tomorrow. so i threw on some clothes and decided to stop by books a million since i just got my financial aid excess check. i finally picked up chuck palahniuk’s Diary, and i also got The Ultimate (Adult Only) Joke Book after flipping through and seeing a few jokes that made my jaw drop. then i sped over to wal mart only to get to the pharmacy 3 minutes before they closed (can you say RUDE?) i didn’t realize they closed at 7 on saturdays–my bad. i saw my foundation, which is always expensive, buy one get one free so i grabbed that but i grabbed the wrong color so i’ll have to exchange it tomorrow. when i get out of work. i grabbed some cookie dough (thanks to alicia who made me need some) picked up some subway and here i am.
